Seek Printer Service FAQ
-
Will using a remanufactured toner cartridge void the warranty I currently
have on my machine?
Answer: No. Federal Law prohibits the Manufacturer from voiding your
warranty simply because you chose to use a third party consumable for your
printer or copier. In fact, it is against the law (the Sherman
and Clayton Anti-Trust Acts ) for a manufacturer to dictate what brand of
supplies you use in your printers. HP
themselves admit that the use of a non-HP toner cartridge will not void
their warranty.
-
Are these cartridges "Drilled and Filled" as many are?
Answer: No. Each cartridge we receive is completely disassembled, any
worn parts are replaced and the entire cartridge is then thoroughly cleaned. We
use a 15 step process to remanufacture your toner cartridge. We use USA made
supplies, completely test the cartridge after remanufacture and seal in a
metalized bag.
-
Will I get more or less prints from a remanufactured cartridge?
Answer: We guarantee that our compatible cartridges will perform as good
or better than a new/OEM cartridge. We stand ready with the latest
cutting edge information on laser printers and copiers constantly entering the
market and use only the highest quality toner and supplies available to ensure
the best product on the market today.
-
I've tried several different cartridges but the same print problem keeps
appearing, what do I do?
Answer: Many problems are associated with the printer itself. Call
our technical hotline or e-mail your problem to our tech through our guestbook
and we can help determine what the problem is. We service and repair almost all
makes of laser printers and some copiers as well.
-
I don't have any empty cartridges except the one in my printer?
Answer: Seek Printer Service has some empty cartridges in stock some we
can get but some we can not due to numbers of machines in service, less machines,
less empty cartridges and usually a higher cost for empties. If you only have
one cartridge, buy another new one and send the empty to Seek Printer Service to
remanufacture and return as your back-up toner cartridge. If we have it we can
ship from stock with a core charge applicable. I encourage all customer and end
users to keep a back-up cartridge available in case you do run into problems.
Even new ones will be defective, be prepared.

What is the difference between new, OEM, generic, compatible, remanufactured
and recycled cartridges?
New or OEM - Original Equipment Manufacture cartridges are made for
the OEM's own branded printer. For example, a Canon cartridge is made for a
specific Canon printer.
Generic - Generic cartridges are cartridges made 100% new. They are
clearly labeled as being made by one company for another company's printer. For
example, Katun, and ProColour cartridges that are made to be used in a Hewlett
Packard printer.
Compatible / Remanufactured / Recycled - any cartridge that makes use of
an empty cartridge or cartridge case but contains new components. This includes
cartridges that are produced by companies such as Xerox, Lexmark or ATM laser to
be used in Hewlett Packard printers.
Counterfeit - Any cartridge that is manufactured by someone other than
the Original Equipment Manufacturer and sold as a new product in either the
original packaging or close to the original packaging to give the impression
that it is a new, OEM product. These are generally poor quality generic
cartridges or refilled cartridges. These cartridges are illegal and should be
avoided.

How is a Toner Cartridge remanufactured?
Different companies have different standards to their remanufacturing process.
At Seek Printer Service, each of our toner cartridges produced adhere to the
following process:
Only OEM or All American Toner cartridge casings are used. Because we can
not guarantee that other remanufacturing facilities use the same scrutiny as we
do, we do not use their empties in our process. Instead, we ship those empties
to other facilities that do not have that requirement.
The cartridge casing is disassembled and thoroughly cleaned before reassembly.
All parts are inspected and replaced as necessary. A new or certified OPC drum
is installed in every cartridge to ensure optimum performance and yields.
Cartridges are filled with custom blended toner that is chemically designed to
match that of the OEM toner specifications. Gram weights of the toner used are
always as much or more than that of the OEM cartridges.
All of our cartridges contain a micro chip that enables the remanufactured
cartridge to function as well as an OEM cartridge.
Cartridges are sealed to prevent leakage during transit.
Every cartridge contains a Serial Number so that we can track its performance.
All cartridges are labeled with part numbers and company information.
Every single cartridge in our facility is quality tested for optimum performance.
Our LT -777 testing machine is considered industry-wide to be the best method
for quality testing. It is a paperless system that allows us to test each
individual component for defects.
All cartridges are foam packaged to ensure that no damage is done through
shipping or transit.
